Big Blue Marble has added live multiview channels to Cloud Video Kit using AWS Elemental Dynamic Multiview. Operators encode each live source once through MediaLive, while MediaPackage assembles requested tiles in the compressed domain at delivery time.

A layout and ordered source list are carried in the request URL. The output remains a standard HLS or DASH adaptive stream, so an existing player can display one composed picture without a custom multiview SDK. One DRM key protects the assembled stream, and SCTE-35 markers can pass through.

This changes the cost model from pre-encoding every camera and layout combination to paying for the source ladders and the compositions viewers actually request. Big Blue Marble’s implementation exposes six grid types and lets DASH users change the audible source without rebuilding the picture.

The service is available, but no customer-scale concurrency, switching-latency, CDN-cache-efficiency or cost comparison is published. Source ladders still need compatible renditions, and HLS audio switching is less flexible than DASH.
