Clear-Com has introduced Access, Resources & Configuration, or ARC, with EHX v15 for Eclipse HX intercom systems. ARC changes the configuration model from a user tied to a specific physical port toward an authenticated role that can appear on compatible panels, beltpacks and virtual clients.
Roles define keys, labels, audio levels and logic. An operator can log in and receive the relevant operating surface without engineering recreating the setup on every endpoint. System resources can also be allocated dynamically, allowing audio processing and port capacity to follow production demand rather than remain reserved for a single fixed position.
That approach is useful for distributed control rooms, shared facilities and productions with rotating crews. It can reduce duplicated configuration and make a backup panel more useful because the operator’s role is not inseparable from the failed device.
The overview confirms the role model and dynamic allocation but does not identify every compatible endpoint, authentication backend, maximum scale, failover timing or behaviour during a network partition. Facilities will need to test permission design and fallback operation carefully because identity now sits directly in a critical communications path.
