Bitfocus Buttons 1.8 expands its broadcast and AV control platform with automatic route finding. Operators can connect a source and destination without manually understanding every router, converter and tie-line along the path, while engineering retains the underlying configuration.
Project-bound routing can release resources when an event closes, and repeated structures such as virtual camera channels can be instantiated without rebuilding each path. For IP systems, Buttons now includes an NMOS registry and manages multicast addresses according to stream type.
The release also connects directly to TSL tally systems, adds timers and conditional events, HTTP request nodes, LDAP or Active Directory integration, OIDC single sign-on and role synchronisation. User profiles can follow an operator to another panel through login or NFC, and dynamic labels can rotate with the surface.
Bitfocus says the library approaches 900 APIs and interfaces, but compatibility depth will differ between devices. The announcement does not publish failover timing, NMOS conformance results, maximum routing scale or security-assessment details. Version 1.8 was scheduled for October availability to existing licence holders, so production validation remains essential before changing live-show control.
