BirdDog has made Pod available as a compact NDI-to-USB converter. Its gigabit Ethernet port scans the local network for NDI sources, and four programmable buttons select which feed is presented to a connected computer as standard USB Video Class and USB Audio Class signals.
The device accepts full-bandwidth NDI at up to 1080p60 as well as NDI HX2 and HX3 in H.264 or HEVC. The USB-C output is limited to 1080p30, making Pod a format and frame-rate boundary as well as a physical bridge.
Applications such as Teams, Zoom and streaming software can see the chosen output as an ordinary webcam. Power over Ethernet removes a separate local power supply, while API commands allow switching to be integrated into room-control or production automation.
Pod is listed at 299 US dollars and is available to order. BirdDog does not publish conversion latency, scaling quality, USB host compatibility or source-switch interruption time, so live users should validate lip sync, format changes and recovery when an NDI feed disappears.
