The Austrian Parliament is integrating C2PA Content Credentials into its video-on-demand platform with Big Blue Marble. The aim is to make the origin and processing history of official parliamentary video technically traceable at the point where audiences receive it.
Big Blue Marble’s Cloud Video Kit supplies the processing and delivery layer. According to the announcement, credential creation is automated during publication preparation rather than added as a separate manual step. The product appears on the C2PA conformance list, providing a defined implementation base for the project.
The work extends the Parliament’s recent experiments with media integrity. A separate trial with ORF and zerothird used quantum-generated keys over dedicated fibre to detect interference with live transmissions. C2PA addresses a different layer: it attaches signed provenance information to published content so compatible tools can verify its declared source and history.
The announcement does not describe the signing-key governance, the exact assertions stored in each credential or how the workflow handles derivatives made outside the Parliament’s platform. It also does not provide verification statistics across consumer devices. Those details will determine whether the deployment offers durable chain-of-custody evidence rather than only a publisher signature at one step.
