Driftwood Productions has released ARRI EI Zone 2.0 as a GPU-accelerated OFX plugin for DaVinci Resolve Studio. The tool maps LogC3 and LogC4 material into six false-colour exposure zones intended to correspond with ARRI camera monitoring.
The update corrects ALEXA 35 shadow thresholds at EI 1280 and above, where the previous version used an ALEXA 265 table. It also adds native legal-range SDI tables instead of rescaling values and keeps superwhites and crushed blacks in their clipping-zone colours.
Operators can select exposure index values from 160 to 6400, isolate individual zones, add zebra stripes to clipping areas and choose greyscale, original or dimmed backgrounds. Legends can appear along the bottom, at the side or full screen with camera and EI labels.
The developer claims close agreement with in-camera thresholds, but no independent pixel comparison or cross-version Resolve test is published. Users must also confirm how colour management, input transforms and legal/full-range interpretation are configured before treating the overlay as an exposure reference.
